NAV Valuation & Advisory LLC (“NAV”) launched today, creating a cutting-edge corporate advisory firm with a simultaneous, triple-threat focus on investment valuation, investment auditing, and corporate advisory services for the alternative investment industry.  

NAV was founded in response to the recent renewed push by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), accounting regulators, and FINRA to harmonize valuation practice diversity and inconsistent fund audit support for asset values, especially amongst illiquid and hard-to-value level 3 assets held by private equity and venture capital firms.  

Many level 3 assets, such as illiquid debt securities, compounded the financial crisis of 2008-2009.  

NAV feels their new approach is cutting-edge since each NAV professional wears multiple hats as a seasoned valuator and fund auditor, a rare combination ideal for fostering collaboration between external auditors and portfolio managers.
